The successful candidate will have 3+ years of trust & estate administration law experience and must be well versed in general trust & estate accounts, conservatorships, as well as the entire administration process.

You’ll be responsible for administering wills and trusts; preparing probate administration documents, conservatorship administration documents, estate administration documents, and accounts; gathering, inventorying, identifying, and valuing of assets; distribution, allocation and funding of sub-trusts; drafting court documents (such as 850 petitions & 17200 petitions); legal research; and communicating with clients, staff, and attorneys.

Additional responsibilities for the successful candidate include preparation and review of accounts and review of estate tax returns, and review of federal and state fiduciary income tax returns.

The firm is seeking someone who’s personable and comfortable in a client-facing role, as you’ll be regularly liaising with clients and internal staff. The ideal candidate will have experience with trusts and other estate planning documents. A strong academic record and excellent writing skills are required. Must be admitted to practice in the State of California.

This position requires excellent organization, computer skills, and math. Must be detail-oriented, able to work directly with clients, a self-starter who is able to meet deadlines and works well both independently and as part of a team.

Job Functions:

· Conduct legal analyses of issues in claims, requiring knowledge and understanding of applicable case law and statutes.

  • Engage in direct communications via telephone and e-mail with attorneys, staff, and clients.
  • Engage in litigation related events including but not limited to depositions, conferences, and hearings.
  • Properly track and record time billed on claim-related tasks, reaching monthly goal following initial training period.
  • Administer guardianship and probate matters from filing to discharge including use of restricted depository accounts and creation of accountings.

Qualification & Education Requirements:

· 3+ years of trust and estate administration experience

  • Juris Doctorate
  • California Bar Admission/Member in Good Standing
  • Must be able to write in a clear, logical, and grammatically correct manner, integrating legal analyses into work.
  • Ability to analyze facts and discovery to apply to statutes and case law on point.
  • Ability to verbally present case facts, legal analyses and recommendations and defend positions through same.
  • Ability to work independently with exception of on new topics or issues on which it is expected help to be sought so as to not sacrifice significant time on project.
  • LLM in Tax or Estate Planning is a plus

Pay: $78,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
