World Relief Immigration Training

CLS is still partnering with World Relief to offer immigration law training.  We have scheduled three different webinars, which are all one hour long. On May 1st and 8th, Immigration Law 101 for Legal Christian Aid will be offered; this course will offer a brief overview on immigration law as it relates to Christian legal aid.  Then on June 11th, Immigration Law 102 for Christian Legal Aid will be offered. This training session will build on the sessions that are offered in May and will be slightly more advanced.  Please click on the links below in order to register.  If you have any questions, please contact Amy Tenney at World Relief at atenney@wr.org.

Immigration Law Institute: Immigrant Rights Training

Presented by Open Hands Legal Services in partnership with Christian Legal Society, Hope for New York, World Relief Support Center for Immigrant Legal Services

Begins May 31 at 6pm; ends June 1 at 4:30pm

Join us for a two-day practical skills training program designed for attorneys who want to understand what immigration law is all about, particularly the law as it applies to low-income and undocumented immigrants living in New York City. Experienced faculty will provide an overview of immigration law and will discuss naturalization and immigrant rights, among other things.

Other topics you will learn about include:
• Legislative update on immigration reform
• Family-based immigration
• The intersection of criminal law and immigration law
• Open Hands New Volunteer training
