HTC Church is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to serve as our Youth Pastor and English Service Leader. This is a part-time, hourly position with the potential to transition to a full-time salaried role in the future, depending on the needs of the ministry and the church’s financial capacity.
Primary Responsibilities:
Youth Ministry:
– Provide oversight, support, and strategic direction for the existing youth Sunday school program.
– Collaborate with the Sunday school teachers to ensure the youth curriculum is aligned with the church’s vision and the needs of the youth.
– Organize and lead youth-focused fellowship activities, retreats, and special events.
– Build meaningful relationships with youth and their families, providing pastoral care and guidance.
– Coordinate with the church leadership to align the youth ministry with the congregation’s overall direction.
English Service Leadership:
– Oversee and lead the weekly English service, including sermon preparation and delivery.
– Coordinate with the worship team to select appropriate songs and plan the order of service.
– Ensure the English service aligns with the church vision and mission.
– Provide pastoral care and support to the English-speaking members of the congregation.
Required Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree or post-baccalaureate certificate in theology. (e.g., Christian ministry, theology, or education)
– 2-3 years of experience leading youth ministry programs in a church setting.
– 1-2 years of experience preaching and leading an English worship service.
– Strong biblical knowledge and ability to teach the Christian faith in a relevant and engaging manner.
– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to connect with both teenagers and adults.
– Passion for mentoring and discipling people in their spiritual journeys.
– Proficient in planning, organizing, and executing youth-focused and worship events.
– Team player with a collaborative leadership style.
– At least two referrals are required from past work.
Desired Skills:
– Experience working with culturally diverse populations.
– Familiarity with the Tamil/Indian cultural context.
– Ability to speak the Tamil language.
