In September, Kim Colby from CLS’ Center for Law & Religious Freedom was invited to testify before the presidentially appointed Religious Liberty Commission. Kim used her time to press the case for legislation that would further cement religious freedoms for religious student groups on university campuses. Despite the protections rooted in the First Amendment, religious student groups whose beliefs do not tow to modern cultural assumptions continually find themselves derecognized, stigmatized, and excluded from campus life.
