Michigan Supreme Court Holds Decision on Proposed Anti-Bias and Anti-Harassment Rule

On September 25, Center Senior Counsel Laura Nammo testified at an administrative hearing before the Michigan Supreme Court, urging it not to adopt a new ethical rule that would impede the free speech of Michigan attorneys. Today, the Michigan Supreme Court issued an order adopting the change to the judicial canon and noting that the changes to the Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct were being “held for further consideration by the Court.”
