We’re seeking a full time associate attorney who is a motivated, independent thinker that prefers a challenging environment and has a proven track record for success. We are looking for an attorney who is self-motivated and detail-oriented to support the growing needs of our clients.
Our ideal attorney candidate has at least 4 to 5 years of transactional law experience. Preferred experience in the real estate or nonprofit sector. Must have excellent legal research and writing skills, as well as excellent organizational skills, able work independently and possess a strong sense of urgency.
As an associate attorney with our firm, you will structure, review, draft and negotiate legal documents, including but not limited to nonprofit formation and governance documents, employment agreements, real estate agreements, vendor and service agreements, applications for tax-exempt recognition and some intellectual property registrations. You will provide strategic and practical advice to clients on issues of legal and business significance, perform research on legal issues, prepare legal opinions and memorandums, perform due diligence in legal matters concerning contracts, agreements, and acquisitions, as well as develop and maintain general knowledge on relevant legal, regulatory and compliance risks, particularly as they relate to nonprofit entities. You will provide some litigation support in litigation matters handled by the firm.
1. Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school required.
2. Current license to practice law in the U.S. required. Texas license preferred or must be willing to undertake application and the steps necessary to secure a Texas license to practice law.
3. Must have at least 4-5 years legal experience.
4. Must have some experience with transactional legal work, preferably in nonprofit or real estate law.
