- One of the most legally underserved sections of our citizen population is those in addiction treatment and recovery – and they are ones most in need of legal help. 3R Ministries, founded by David Valerio in 2009, serves such people, in particular those in recovery at Adult and Teen Challenge rehabilitation centers in Northern California. On February 24, David Valerio shared his insights on serving people at rock bottom in their lives, such as those who are homeless or battling addictions and with a laundry list of outstanding legal matters, including arrest warrants. This presentation provided legal aid attorneys with tools to engage such clients, particularly those in addiction treatment and recovery, by helping them to help themselves. Mr. Valerio also spoke on providing Christ-centered and compassionate representation before the courts, when necessary, to assist clients in obtaining mercy over judgment (James 2:13).
