I think we can all agree that law school is stressful!
It leaves far too little time for spiritual development and provides even less opportunity to explore what Harold Berman once called the “fundamental unity” of law and religion. Law Student Ministries (LSM) is here to change that!
LSM does this in two ways. First, by encouraging and nurturing Christian law students through the provision of mentors and resources aimed at fostering spiritual growth, vocational stewardship, academic excellence, and compassionate outreach. Second, by establishing and maintaining vibrant witnessing communities of law students on every law school campus in the nation and at key Christian colleges.
“And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
— Colossians 3:17 (ESV)
LSM serves all Christian law students—providing them spiritual, material, and legal resources to not only exist on campus, but also to thrive in their ability to integrate their faith with the study of law.
Be encouraged that the investment you make to start or strengthen a CLS law student chapter is a labor that others have begun, and others will eventually enter into.
Wherever you are, LSM is here to help!
The CLS Law School Fellows program is designed to encourage and train first and second-year law students to seek and study biblical truth as it relates to the study and practice of law.
Students selected for the Fellows program will spend a week in Washington, D.C., with the LSM team and esteemed guests from around the country discussing Christian jurisprudence and building a spiritual network with other law students from across the nation.
A discussion group held twice a semester starring global leaders for the purpose of training and encouraging Christian law students to better integrate their faith with the study of law.
A discussion group held throughout the school year focused on cultivating the Christian imagination by exploring our role in God’s unfolding narrative.
A discussion group focusing on a specific book or topic, held sporadically throughout the year.
Christian Legal Society offers legal assistance for those in need through CLS’ network of Christian Legal Aid clinics and Christian Attorneys’ directory. CLS’ Center for Law & Religious Freedom is also available to address issues related to the infringement of religious freedom.
